is my understanding that these ancestors of ours met in Alabama after Dahlonega arrived from Gainesville, Florida where he resided for a time after he left Appling County, Georgia.  His father had been a Confederate Corporal in the 1860s.  He is said to have been present at Appomattox at the surrender.  Pearl must have guided Olive's tender hands in learning the craft of quilting.
